This tomato sauce recipe with chicken balls will be a welcome change from the routine...
And you don’t need to be a Cordon Bleu chef either!
And like my other recipes for chicken balls here and here, everything is still fast and easy!
And you can get creative with this dish too. But for me and my Chef, we like to have this with pasta most of the time.
Simple recipes only need simple settings!
But give it a try and see what you can come up with :)
500 g ground chicken
50 ml sour cream
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 egg beaten
2 tablespoons bread crumbs
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion
1-2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 can tomatoes
130 g cheese (your choice!)
Wash, peel and mince the onions. Peel and chop the garlic. Place both in small separate bowls and set aside.
In another bowl, combine the ground chicken with the sour cream, ketchup, egg, bread crumbs and parsley. Mix thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper.
From this mixture, form about 16-18 meatballs.
Place a skillet over medium-to-high heat. Add half the oil. Sautée the chicken balls for about 5 minutes on. Remove and drain the excess oil on a paper towel.
Add the remaining oil and sautée the onions and garlic.
Next we'll make our tomato sauce.
Peel the tomatoes.
In a pot, mix the tomatoes with the sauteed onions and garlic. Add the tomato sauce. Add the meatballs. Cook covered for about 10 minutes on low heat.
Season sauce with salt and pepper to taste if you like.
Cut the cheese into pieces and add to the sauce, letting them melt!
When done, serve with a garnish with some mint green or finely chopped parsley.
I did suggest pasta as a side dish for this tomato sauce recipe.
But it also goes good along with rice or potatoes, believe it or not.
