Prosciutto recipes with chicken!

Yes anything and everything is possible!

And I only found out recently prosciutto is Italian for ham! It’s probably because I haven’t yet learned to speak Italian yet (I’m such a stupido!)

But this chicken prosciutto wrap is a perfect quick and easy BBQ dish to make when you’re having family and friends over.

Why?

Well: there is always a lot to think about, especially when you’re serving a large gathering. So this chicken prosciutto recipe is perfect because it’s something fast and easy to make.

Oh...it’s also super tasty too!

It works as an appetizer you can have right off the grill or a main meal with sides

Also, this chicken proscuitto wrap uses pesto sauce. And I’ve made a recipe for that which you can find by clicking here!

My Tip:

Make the mayonnaise ahead of time!

Even though this recipe is of the last minute type, this mayonnaise is something you’ll want on hand anytime because it has such a nice sharp zesty flavor.

Knowing you’ll have guests arriving you can wrap the prosciutto chicken ahead of time, too. This way you’re ready to grill then when your guests are hungry! It will be really fresh and everyone will enjoy them!

Let’s get started!!

Ingredients (Serves 4-5 prosciuttos):

400 g of chicken boneless breasts
3 tablespoon of pesto sauce
1 tablespoon of oil
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon of fresh oregano
20 thin slices prosciutto di Parma

Garlic Mayonnaise:

1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1 large clove, crushed
2 tablespoons of fresh basil, chopped
2 tablespoons of parsley, also chopped (some extra vitamins never hurts anybody!)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Wash the chicken breasts thoroughly. Dry with paper towels.

Cut the chicken into 20 bite-size pieces and place into a bowl.

In the bowl, add the pesto sauce, oil, garlic and oregano. Mix everything well, and toss to coat evenly.

Wrap each coated chicken piece with a prosciutto slice and place on skewer.

Place skewers over your BBQ grill on medium heat for about 6-8 minutes. You can check if it’s done well if the chicken is not pink inside anymore.

If you need more barbecue time, about 2-3 more minutes should do it. This chicken prosciutto recipe tastes better when made crispy and crunchy too!

Directions for Garlic Mayonnaise:

To make our garlic mayonnaise, we simply add the mayonnaise, garlic, basil and parsley, into a bowl. We stir all the ingredients together well. Add some pepper and salt to taste.

Now we have a great dipping sauce!

Serving Suggestions:

Chicken prosciutto recipes like this go great with a little bit of salad and a few outdoor type refreshments.

Use mini skewers to serve. This will make really fun for kids too.
